The Achievement in Business Competencies Program, also known as the Blue Seal Program, was established by the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Board to encourage and recognize the study of business by persons who are certified in an Alberta designated trade or occupation. The Blue Seal is issued to eligible individuals once the program standard has been fulfilled.
The Blue Seal Certificate with the affixed Blue Seal is granted to persons who meet the requirements of the Achievement in Business Competencies Program. At one time, the Blue Seal was affixed to the individual's trade or occupational certificate. However, because those original certificates were not always provided to Apprenticeship and Industry Training, the Blue Seal is now affixed to a separate certificate.
Individuals possessing a valid Alberta Journeyman Certificate, an Alberta Occupational Certificate or a valid credential that is recognized by the Alberta and Industry Training Board are eligible to apply for a Blue Seal Certificate.
Business training is essential in today’s competitive and dynamic environment. It enhances skills and creates opportunities! The Blue Seal Certificate demonstrates that an individual has applied reasonable effort in the study of business, and possesses a respectable knowledge of one or more business topics.
